PayPal has posted notice of scheduled maintenance for the 15th and 16th of September, 2011 which may affect checkouts using PayPal Website Payments Pro, PayPal for Digital Goods checkout flow, and PayPal Payflow Pro; you can advise any affected buyers to retry their checkout after waiting a few minutes. Regular checkouts using PayPal Website Payments Standard should NOT be affected.

This maintenance includes:
- 3 minutes of intermittent service disruption between Sep 15, 11:07 PM PDT (Sep 16, 6:07 AM GMT) and Sep 15, 11:10 PM PDT (Sep 16, 6:10 AM GMT). During this time some API requests may receive "HTTP 500" errors. If you happen to encounter this scenario you can retry the API request which is expected to be successful.
- 3 minutes of PLANNED DOWNTIME between Sep 15, 11:11 PM PDT (Sep 16, 6:11 AM GMT) and Sep 15, 11:14 PM PDT (Sep 16, 6:14 AM GMT). During this time the majority of PayPal features will be unavailable.
We will send an update before the downtime begins and another update to confirm restoration of service.

NOTIFICATION: During this scheduled maintenance activity between Sep 16 11:01 PM PDT (Sep 17 6:01 AM GMT) and Sep 16 11:16 PM PDT (Sep 17 6:11 AM GMT) some payment transactions via the PayPal API may fail with one of the following errors:
* 10001 - Internal Error.
* 10764 - This transaction cannot be processed at this time. Please try again later.
* 10417 - The transaction cannot complete successfully. Instruct the customer to use an alternative payment method.
This will only impact payments where the buyer's funding instrument is American Express.
Merchants can retry these failed requests after Sep 16 11:16 PM PDT (Sep 17 06:11 AM GMT).
